2. General Information on Data Processing

The protection of your personal data is important to me. Personal data means any information that can be used to identify you personally, such as your name, email address or IP address. I process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide this website and its functions, when you contact me, or when you have consented to a specific type of processing – for example, receiving my newsletter. The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the applicable provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

3. Provision and Hosting of the Website by Wix

This website was created using Wix and is provided through services offered by Wix. The provider is Wix.com Ltd., Yunitsman 5 St, Tel Aviv, Israel.

When you access this website, technically necessary data may be processed. This may include, in particular, your IP address, information about the browser and device used, the date and time of access, as well as technical log and usage data. This data is processed in particular to ensure the secure, stable and technically error-free provision of the website. Where processing is necessary for the provision and security of the website, it is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in providing a secure and functional website. Wix.com Ltd. is based in Israel. The European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision for Israel. Wix also uses service providers and infrastructure worldwide. Where personal data is transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area for which no adequacy decision exists, Wix states that it uses appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

4. Cookies and Consent Management

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some of these are technically necessary for the website to function properly. Other services or technologies are used – where consent is required – only after you have given your consent. The consent management solution integrated into Wix is used to manage your consent preferences. When you first visit the website, you can use the cookie banner displayed to decide which non-essential services and technologies you wish to allow. You can reject optional services and change your selection later via the website's privacy settings or withdraw previously given consent with effect for the future. Where processing is based on your consent, it is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where required, the storage of or access to information on your device is carried out on the basis of the applicable legal provisions. Technically necessary processing may be carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, provided that the applicable legal requirements are met.

5. Contact Form

A contact form is available on this website. If you use it, the data you enter will be processed.

The following information is requested:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

In addition, any information you voluntarily provide as part of your enquiry will be processed. The data will be used exclusively to process your enquiry and for any subsequent communication. Processing is generally carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to respond to enquiries from interested parties and to communicate with them. If your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contractual relationship, processing may additionally be based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Data submitted via the contact form will be deleted once it is no longer required for processing your enquiry and provided that there are no statutory retention obligations or other legal grounds requiring further storage.

6. Newsletter via Brevo

You can voluntarily subscribe to my newsletter on this website.

I use Brevo to send and manage the newsletter. When you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is transmitted to Brevo and processed there. Processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. In particular, you can use the unsubscribe link included in the newsletter emails or contact me using the contact details provided above. After withdrawing your consent, you will no longer receive newsletters on the basis of that consent. Data may continue to be stored where this is required by law or where another lawful basis for storage applies. Brevo is used as a service provider for the technical delivery of emails and the management of recipients.

7. Collectors List

You can also sign up for the Collectors List on this website.

This subscription is separate from the general newsletter. Through the Collectors List, you will receive information about the “Studies of Becoming” series as well as future series in accordance with the consent you provide when signing up.

The following data is processed as part of the registration:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

Brevo is also used as a service provider for this communication. The information you provide is therefore processed through Brevo for the purpose of managing the list and sending the relevant emails. Processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, in particular by using an unsubscribe link included in the relevant emails or by sending a message to the email address provided above. After you withdraw your consent, your data will no longer be used to send these communications unless another legal basis exists for its continued storage.

8. Protection Against Misuse Using reCAPTCHA

reCAPTCHA may be used in the registration forms embedded on this website. The service is used to detect automated access, spam, fraud and other forms of misuse and to protect the forms against such activities. When reCAPTCHA is used, technical data may be processed that is necessary to assess whether an interaction is being performed by a human or by an automated system. In particular, the _GRECAPTCHA cookie may be used. The processing serves security purposes and the prevention of fraud and misuse. Where consent is required for the specific processing, it is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Otherwise, processing for the purpose of ensuring the security of the website and its forms may be based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, provided that the applicable legal requirements are met.

9. Instagram Feed

This website uses the Wix app “Instagram Feed” to display content from my Instagram account on the website.

The integration allows content from the Instagram social network to be displayed within the website. Depending on the technical implementation, data may be processed or connections to the services involved may be established when such content is loaded or interacted with.

Where non-essential cookies or similar technologies are used for this purpose, or where the corresponding transfer of data requires consent, processing will only take place after you have given your consent via the cookie or consent banner. In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time with effect for the future via the website's privacy settings.

10. Recipients of Personal Data

Personal data will only be transferred to external service providers or other recipients where this is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, where there is a legal obligation to do so, or where you have consented to the transfer. This may include, in particular, service providers used to operate this website and its functions, especially Wix and Brevo, as well as other technical service providers where used in connection with the functions described above. Where service providers process personal data on my behalf, this is carried out in accordance with the applicable data protection requirements governing processing on behalf of a controller.

11. Transfers of Data to Third Countries

When using certain services, personal data may be processed outside Germany or outside the European Economic Area.

Where the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision for the country concerned, personal data may be transferred on that basis. Otherwise, where required, appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR will be used, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

12. Storage Period

Personal data is generally stored only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose of processing.

Where statutory retention obligations apply, the relevant data will be stored for the duration of those obligations. It will subsequently be deleted unless another legal basis exists for continued storage. Where processing is based on your consent, the data will generally be processed until you withdraw your consent or until the purpose of the processing no longer applies, unless another legal basis or statutory retention obligation requires continued storage.

13. Withdrawal of Consent

Where the processing of personal data is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

The lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of your consent prior to its withdrawal remains unaffected.

16. Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR. In particular, you may contact the data protection supervisory authority responsible for your place of residence, habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
